Whether you're interested in becoming a yoga teacher or just wanting to dive deeper into your own practice and experience of yoga, the South Boston Yoga Teacher Training is a great choice for a fun and intelligent exploration of a modern yoga practice.
This compassionate and intensive training will give you the insight, experience and confidence to teach a powerful class to any level of student. Learn the anatomy and movement of the body in relation to injury and rehabilitation. Learn safe and purposeful sequencing, gentle yet well directed adjustments and verbal cues. Learn to guide the subtle flow of prana, dive into meditative serenity and move from your intuitive and natural self.
This course will teach you how to guide your students through a safe, stable and purposeful yoga class to any level. We will delve into the evolution of modern yoga incorporating anatomy, smart sequencing, fitness and nutrition with classical examination of the sutras, meditation, breathwork (pranayama) and basic yoga philosophy.
With 200 in-class hours plus classes, readings, and practice teaching public community classes, you will be well prepared to teach multiple levels of classes on graduation.
This course is certified with Yoga Alliance for 200hr RYT.
Therapeutic Yoga Training and Mentorship Program w/ Kate Graham
Yoga Therapy is the process of empowering the individual through yoga with a deep awareness and integrated understanding of the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual body. Yoga techniques and practices are adapted to the client’s specific needs in order to understand, manage and treat conditions experienced by the individual, promoting optimal health and wellness.
This program is designed to help students gain an in-depth understanding of the core therapeutic yoga principals. Students will develop and refine the unique qualities and skills necessary to work as a yoga therapist with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression and trauma. Throughout the program, students will have the opportunity to experience the therapeutic yoga practices and apply their knowledge through teaching, assignments and small group work.
Fridays 6pm-9pm, Saturdays 9am-6pm, Sundays 11am-6pm
Module I: Yoga for Anxiety and Depression
Module II: Yoga for Trauma
Module III: The Unique Art of Teaching Therapeutic Yoga
Therapeutic Yoga Mentorship Program:
Saturdays 12:30pm-5:30pm on Sept 26th, Oct 24th, Nov 21st and Dec 12th
Each module is designed to provide students with an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the application of yoga therapy in each area of study. Modules include lectures, yoga practice focused on the clinical application, practical application of the material through teaching, assignments and small group work, group discussions, readings and homework assignments. The Mentorship program will allow students to continue to develop and refine their personal practice and integrate their professional therapeutic yoga skills through case studies, session recordings, assignments and practical application of knowledge.
This is a 100 hour therapeutic yoga program which includes 80 contact and 20 non-contact hours.
Continuing Education Credits:
Social Work, LMHC and Yoga Alliance Continuing Education available for this program.
- Early Registration - $1,550 to be paid in full before July 10th
- Program Cost - $1,695 with deposit $500 to secure place in the course and remaining balance due before the first day of the program.
