    • Yoga allows me to be who I am without struggle. To notice, breathe, remember and enjoy this body, this moment. I love returning to my yoga mat to play in the body awakening, breathe into a heart wide open and find gratitude for the infinite that I forgot was me. Classes integrate a clear foundation in anatomy with intelligent alignment, hands on adjustments and ever evolving flows to heal the body. Students are encouraged to cultivate a deep passion for self examination, light hearted exploration and drop everything in order to find out that when we hold on to nothing, what is left, is all we truly need.

It has been an incredible gift to have studied and trained in yoga, structural bodywork and meditation. I have been honored to meet and practice with so many talented and amazing teachers whose work I cherish and share now as I teach. Thank you Patricia Walden, Ana Forrest, Tom Myers, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Lynne Begier, David Magone, Andrew Cohen, Bo Forbes, Sundara, Pamela Wilson, Arthur Kilmurray, Sri Louise, Byron Katie and Glenn Black for reflecting the limitless.

    • I was introduced to the physical practice of yoga by my husband and partner, David Vendetti, in 2002. I have certifications with Glenn Black, Ana Forrest, David Magone and Cameron Shayne, and have also studied with Shandor Remete, Duncan Wong, Manju Jois, and a number of other amazing and talented teachers. In January of 2008, David and I opened South Boston Yoga and continue to develop our community here.

I feel that the core of a "successful" yoga practice lies in the development of a strong personal practice, and I teach my classes with the intention of giving my students the tools and experience to help them develop in this way. My classes focus on intelligent strength building through longer holds, arm balancing postures, and transitioning with grace, articulation and control from one posture to the next. I teach each class with purpose and with great respect for my students' health and safety.

    • As a yogini with scoliosis, Magi seeks to go beyond physical boundaries and explore new possibilities of movement and breath in her practice. Her classes create a safe, warm space where all levels of student are free to explore their growing practice, both on and off the mat. Her use of a unique blend of intricate and intelligent sequencing with asana founded in anatomy connects students with their breath and body, which allows them to reconnect with their passion. Her teaching is guided to help students work in a pain free or pain freeing way.

Magi's teaching is inspired by her two main teachers, David Vendetti and Ana Forrest as well as her own personal practice. She is also grateful to have had the opportunity to study with an ever-growing list of incredible and motivating teachers.

    • I discovered yoga after sustaining several knee injuries and 8 knee surgeries from being a collegiate level athlete and aspiring dancer. I believe that yoga helps me to connect to my body in a more conscious way with awareness and acceptance.

In class, you can expect awakening sequences linking movement with breath, vitalizing arm balances, concise alignment cues and light-hearted humor. I have trained with Baron Baptiste and have taken numerous workshops with Shiva Rea, Desiree Rumbaugh, Budokon Founder Cameron Shayne and Ana Forrest and I am certified through YogaKids with Marsha Wenig. I teach children from ages 3 to 93.

    • Bonnie Argo
    • Bonnie came across the practice of AcroYoga whilst working with street children in Kenya. She began sharing the work with the children there and observing the transformation that takes place. This led her to complete the training to become a certified AcroYoga teacher. Bonnie has also studied Vinyasa with the queen of flow, Shiva Rea, completing her 200 hour certification, and continues to pursue her 500 hour certification under Shiva's nurturing grace.

Her teaching style embodies the playfulness of the AcroYoga practice and emphasizes empowerment through deep listening to our individual boundaries and accurate self assessment. She relishes the opportunity to offer people a new outlook on communication through working with the self, and with others. This, combined with her love of an eclectic blend of music, create classes that will challenge, liberate and strengthen! Bonnie has taught across Europe, the USA and Africa.

    • Dorian Rose
    • Dorian Rose fell in love with the energizing and therapeutic aspects of yoga when she began studying Ashtanga at Back Bay Yoga with David Vendetti in 2000. Having been injured training in dance and suffering from anxiety/depression, she found relief and compassion in yoga. She found she wished to share this experience and teacher-trained with Manju Jois, son of Pattabhi Jois, to deepen her practice. She has since explored the therapeutic and spiritual aspects of yoga, taking workshops with many teachers including Ana Forrest, Kelly Morris and Sundara. She has recently completed a 200 hr. training with Bo Forbes, whose unique style of Elemental Yoga integrates mind and body healing in yoga flows. Dorian teaches a class that focuses on challenging the practitioner to go further and open possibilites for creating space and ease in ones body and life.

    • Dustin DiPerna
    • Dustin's official yoga teaching career began six years ago in Ithaca, NY while attending undergraduate school at Cornell University. After a period of time as a Hindu monk in India, Dustin realized that being a monk 'in the world', rather than 'out of it', allowed him a much fuller expression and capacity to play with, in, and as, the Divine.

Most recently, after spending two years working under the leadership of Integral Philosopher Ken Wilber at the Integral Institute in Boulder, Colorado, Dustin completed his first book Infinite Ladder: An Introduction to Integral Religious Studies (forthcoming through Integral Books). In it, Dustin uses several models of psychological intelligence (Moral Development, Faith Development, Ego Development, Value Development etc.) to trace how various stages of spiritual orientation unfold within each of our world's religious traditions.

In addition to teaching yoga and writing full time, Dustin is currently pursuing a Masters of Liberal Arts Degree in Religion at Harvard University.

    • I came to yoga with a competitive athlete's background and expectations. I was promptly humbled by my first class, yet immediately drawn to the focus on the present and calming environment of the class. I continue to learn and enjoy this physical and emotional adventure, while I apply the "on the mat" skills of attention to breath and staying present to life off of the mat. Yoga has helped me to approach anxiety and depression in a healthy way, as well as given me a repertoire of yoga party tricks to wow my friends and family. I have found my grounding in a variety of yoga styles including vinyasa, Forrest and Ashtanga. With partner yoga and flying I have taken my practice to a whole new level of trust, stability and openness. I offer students a fun, accessible class filled with hands-on assists and lively music.

    • marc mcdonald
    • Marc McDonald
    • Marc began teaching yoga in 1998 after having been inspired by the transformative effects of the practice in his life. He soon focused his attention on Astanga yoga under the direction of David Swenson and Kathy McNames. He would later complete (220/500 hour) teacher certifications through FRA and Yoga Vermont. In 2005, Marc was introduced to Budokon, a Yogic and Martial art created by Cameron Shayne. This practice would enhance and expand upon ideas introduced years earlier. His classes integrate a love of music and an expression of movement that is both challenging and playful. His approach is based on the firm belief that each body must find its own unique path within the practice. Marc does not believe in 'one size fits all'. He encourages exploration and creativity in adjusting one's yoga practice to suit the body they were given.

The transformative effects of a dedicated practice have inspired her to begin teaching. Michelle's classes focus on physical and mental relaxation and encourage a practice that will help you reduce your workday stress. Devoted practitioners as well as those just curious about meditation are welcome to join.
